Russian social networks write that the Russian Ministry of Defense most likely fired Colonel General Rustam Muradov from the post of commander of the Eastern Group of Forces (SGV) in Ukraine.

British intelligence, in a new report on the war in Ukraine on April 6, said Muradov’s forces had suffered significant losses in recent months as ill-conceived assaults repeatedly failed to capture the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.

These operations drew sharp public criticism from various Russian commentators, including Muradov’s own troops.
Muradov led the SHV after his disastrous attempt to storm Kyiv from the northwest during the initial full-scale invasion in the spring of 2022.
Muradov is the tallest Russian military man, released in 2023.
However, there will likely be more. After all, Russia continues to fail to achieve its goals in the Donbass, British intelligence officers say.
