The United States will give Ukraine an experimental weapon against Iranian drones of Russia.

The list of weapons that the States will transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine includes:
- kinetic weapon systems – destroy drones with missiles or small arms with ultra-precise control;
- drone capture systems – use special predator drones or nets to physically capture enemy drones;
- laser weapons systems use high-energy lasers to damage or destroy enemy drones;
- electronic weapons systems – interfere with the normal functioning of drones, forcing them to return to base or change route.
On April 4, the Pentagon announced the provision of a new military assistance package to Ukraine focused on air defense. It contains, among other things, mysterious weapons systems, which the United States called “10 c-UAS laser-guided mobile missile systems.”
This was preceded by a competition held in January by the US Army, which was intended to select a system for combating Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. It is the SAIC company, which participated in the competition, that will send 10 anti-drone systems to Ukraine. Defense One was informed about this by a company representative. In January, SAIC successfully tested BAE Systems’ APKWS laser-guided missiles with 100 percent hit accuracy.
The contracts awarded to the US military say that the purpose of the tests was to destroy third-class drones weighing more than 25 kg, while the Shahed-136 weighs about 220 kg. The documents say that the winner of the competition must send weapons within 30-90 days after the signing of the agreement – about the same time elapsed between the completion of the tests and the announcement of the supply of anti-drone equipment to Ukraine.
