The United States believes that Ukraine can return the territories seized by the Russian Federation, including Crimea.
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are possible only on the terms of Kyiv. This was announced on Wednesday, April 5, by the representative of the State Department, Andrea Kalan, in an interview with Suspіlny.
“The United States wants, our NATO partners want Ukraine to successfully defend its territory. When Ukraine is in a good position on the battlefield, the time will come for negotiations and Ukraine will be able to dictate the terms it,” said a State Department spokesperson.
Commenting on the issue of the delivery of F16 aircraft to Ukraine, he said that the United States and partners are working to provide assistance that “can be transferred to Ukraine now so that Ukraine can get a good, strong position in the field of war.”
He clarified that the new aid from the United States will include weapons that will help the country continue its counter-offensive and liberate the territories.
“We are looking at what we can indicate, because we see that there will definitely be a new offensive from the Russian side. And it is necessary that Ukraine be ready now to resist the Russian aggression,” he added.
Recall that on March 30, the state budget of Ukraine received a grant from the United States in the amount of $1.25 billion. Since the beginning of the massive invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has received $15.5 billion in grants from the United States.
It was also reported that the European Union transferred to Ukraine the second tranche of macro-financial assistance for 1.5 billion euros from a package totaling 18 billion euros.
