Putin is now blackmailing the world by deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus, the head of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized.
NATO should not ignore the nuclear threats of Russian President Vladimir Putin, including the placement of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. This was announced on Wednesday, April 5, by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov, on the air of Channel 24.
“I am more than sure that Putin is now blackmailing the world by putting nuclear weapons in Belarus,” he said.
He recalled that in 2014 Russia shot down a MH-17 passenger plane carrying 298 people. Citizens of alliance member countries were on board, but NATO “swallowed” it.
According to Danilov, the situation may repeat itself.
At the same time, Danilov emphasized that it is not necessary to have nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus in order to strike on the territory of NATO countries.
Today, it is possible to attack any NATO country with a missile with a nuclear warhead from the territory of the Russian Federation.
“This is a game of nuclear muscles, which Putin is using now before certain events,” the NSDC secretary summed up.
Remember, on March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow agreed with Minsk on the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
The head of the ruling regime in Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that with the growing threat to the country, strategic nuclear weapons can be introduced and the infrastructure for this is ready.
