President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky received the highest award of Poland.
During a meeting in Warsaw on April 5, Polish President Andrzej Duda awarded the Ukrainian leader with the Order of the White Eagle. This award is the oldest and highest Polish award. This was announced by the office of the Polish head of state on Twitter.
The presentation took place after the ceremony of meeting the Ukrainian and Polish presidents. Zelensky received the award “for merits in deepening relations between Poland and Ukraine, activities in the field of security, steadfastness in upholding human rights.”
According to Duda, this order is awarded to exceptional people who have contributed to the development of Poland with their lives.
