From a religious ceremony to the possible presence of Enrique and Meghan a month after coronation Carlos III is completing preparations for an event that the British king wants to be more sober and modern than his mother, Elizabeth II, in 1953.
three days of celebration
The palace presented the official invitation sent by the king on Tuesday Charles III74, and Queen Camila, 75, qualified for the first time without the title of consort.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey, but the UK is gearing up for three days of festivities.
On Sunday the 7th, the population was invited to a “great lunch” at parties in the neighborhood. In the evening there will be a concert in Windsor castle, West London. 10,000 tickets will be raffled among the British, but the headliners are yet to be announced.
Finally, the royal family urged the British to do volunteer work on Monday, May 8, a day off.

Simplified ceremony
While Elizabeth II literally carried out the tradition by lasting over three hours in front of more than 8,000 guests, Charles III he decided that the coronation would show his desire for a more balanced and modern monarchy.
It is expected that there will be about 2,000 guests and the ceremony will last about an hour.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, spiritual leader of the Church of England, will lead a highly codified ceremony in which Carlos take an oath
The royal couple will be anointed with oil, Holy Chrism, consecrated and made in Jerusalem, and the king will receive the royal regalia, including the scepter and the crown of St. Edward.
In addition to traditional music, new compositions will be performed, including a specially created by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the creator of such legendary musicals as “Cats” and “Evita”.
The royal family will proceed to Buckingham Palace in procession and then wave to the crowd from the balcony.

What kind of guests?
The final list is not yet known, but it is already known that the abbey will host political leaders, crowned heads and representatives of civil society representing the diversity of the United Kingdom.
Among them will be members of the British royal family, including the youngest. The eldest of Prince William and Catherine’s three children, 9-year-old Prince George, will be one of four pages who will accompany the King on the Abbey’s ship.
Several members of the royal family have already confirmed their presence, including Prince Albert of Monaco and Prince Fumihito and his wife Kiko, from the Japanese imperial family.
While several European leaders are expected to attend, US President Joe Biden “informed” Carlos III in a telephone conversation that his interests would be represented by his wife, Jill, the White House said Tuesday.
The palace invited representatives of charitable organizations and a teenager famous for sleeping in a tent in his garden for three years to raise money for a hospice.
Unknown about Enrique and Megan
Will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who went to live in the US in 2020 and maintain a very strained relationship with the royal family, be present?
The question has been making waves in the media following the broadcast of his documentary series on Netflix and the publication in January of a biography of Enrique, the youngest son of Carlos and the late Diana.
It is known that the couple received an invitation, but the decision is not reported.
At the end of March, Harry made a surprise appearance in London for a court hearing against a tabloid newspaper, but no family reunion was announced.
There are talks between the palace and the couple about their role or managing their security, according to British media reports.
Camille’s touch
Queen Camilla, who will also be crowned on May 6, wanted to include her family, the offspring of her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, in what was seen as an attempt to portray the modern image of a blended family.
Two of his children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopez, will be attending the event. Her three grandchildren, Gus, Louis and Freddie, will accompany her along with her great-nephew Arthur.
During the ceremony, Camila will wear the crown of Queen Mary, the grandmother of Isabella II. (AFP)
