The buckwheat sowing area is expected to be about the same as last year. And since June, even a decrease in the price of cereals is possible.
In Ukraine, in 2023, prices for buckwheat will remain at the same level formed today, however, a price decrease is possible from June. This was said by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky on the air of the telethon.
According to him, according to preliminary forecasts, the area under buckwheat is expected to be almost the same compared to last year.
“This means that more than enough buckwheat will be grown again for domestic consumption. Imports will not be needed, and as a result, there will be no reason to raise prices,” Vysotsky said.
Recall that in October of last year, the price of buckwheat in Ukraine was in the range of 60-70 Hryvnia per kilogram.
Also last year it was reported that Ukraine for the first time in 10 years will collect a record buckwheat harvest.
