Today, on April 2, in Khmelnytsky, near the Holy Intercession Cathedral of the UOC-MP, a meeting was held, the participants of which voted by a majority vote for the transfer of the church to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (VTsU).
The keys to the temple were handed over to the audit commission, which was elected by the townspeople during the meeting. This is reported by “Public” with reference to the head of the audit commission Yuri Smal.
The prerequisite for such a decision by the society was the recent high-profile incident of the beating of a Ukrainian military man by the priests of the UOC-MP.
It is noted that, according to preliminary data, 1,235 people officially registered at the meeting.
The revision commission, the media and the previous secretary of the temple, Alexander Rybchinsky, entered the cathedral, they describe the property. Further, the church will be closed, divine services in it until Easter according to the Eastern rite will not be held.
Smal noted that tomorrow, April 3, representatives of the commission will carry documents on the re-registration of the religious community in the UVA.
A video of the service for the Ukrainian military has already appeared on social networks, for which the society gathered in the walls of the cathedral tonight.
