The Russian military is shelling the Kurakhovskaya thermal power plant in the Donetsk region, resulting in power supply problems. This was announced by the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavel Kirilenko Telegram.
“As a result of the shelling of the Kurakhovskaya thermal power plant by the Russian occupation forces, the power supply was disrupted in three 110 kV power grids that power the Pokrovsky district,” he wrote.
According to Kirilenko, there was also a 10-minute interruption in the power supply of the Kramatorsk energy center – restoration has been carried out.
“Currently, consumers of the Pokrovsky district have been reconnected to alternative electricity supply networks,” said the head of OVA.
DTEK reported that due to heavy shelling, the station’s equipment was damaged, as a result of which the TPP stopped generating electricity.
“According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. After the end of the shelling, electrical engineers will be able to start eliminating the consequences of the attack and continue the operation of the equipment,” the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that the capacities increased in Ukraine after repairs to thermal power plants. In recent days, electricity supply has been restored to about 15,000 subscribers in the Donetsk region in areas affected by Russia’s shelling.
