metropolitan PaulThe abbot of a famous Kyiv monastery, suspected of having links with Moscow, was placed under house arrest for 60 days, Ukrainian justice decided on Saturday.
“The investigating judge decided to apply a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest of the suspect,” said a court in the Ukrainian capital considering the case.
The measure will be applied “for a period of 60 days as part of the preliminary investigation, until May 30, 2023,” the department added.
A religious leader must “wear an electronic tracking device” and avoid “communication with witnesses in criminal proceedings,” the court ruled.
