Metropolitan Pavel’s suspicion was confirmed by the SBU, a preventive measure will be chosen for him

The Security Service of Ukraine reported the suspicion to Metropolitan of the UOC (MP) Pavel.

The SBU confirmed information about searches in the Lavra and in the premises of Metropolitan Pavel Lebed.

The press service of the SBU said that the department had collected a reasonable evidence base regarding the involvement of the former rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Pavel (Peter Lebed) in inciting religious hatred, justifying and denying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

In the meantime, in the Shevchenkovsky court of Kyiv, a court session began on choosing a measure of restraint for the former rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel.

The meeting is held behind closed doors. Journalists are not allowed into the courtroom.

Earlier, Pavel stated that he was allegedly “sentenced to house arrest.”

Earlier, he also told believers of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate that searches, in addition to his house, continue in the Lavra.
