DBR reported suspicion of malpractice to a soldier who leaked 89 tons of strategic aviation fuel.
This was announced today, March 31, by the press service of the department.
The corresponding incident occurred in August 2022.
The serviceman, whose duties included ensuring the storage of fuel and lubricants in one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, did not check for density the tank where aviation fuel for gas turbine engines was shipped. Due to leaky valves, almost 89 tons of liquid worth UAH 6.5 million leaked out of the tanks.
The military officer was informed of suspicion of negligent attitude to military service, which led to grave consequences, committed under martial law (part 4 of article 425 of the Criminal Code). For this offense, the law provides for punishment of up to eight years in prison.
