In the document, the United States is called the source of the main dangers for the security of the Russian Federation and “the main inspiration of the anti-Russian policy of the collective West.”
The president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree approving an updated concept of the main directions of Russia’s foreign policy. He said this on March 31 at a meeting of the Security Council, Russian media reported.
According to him, “due to serious changes in the world arena,” it is necessary to adjust the main strategic documents.
“We have a balanced document that will be the basis of our practical actions in the medium and longer term,” Putin said.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, reported on the provisions of the updated concept. He noted that the logic of the document “reflects changes in the contour of foreign policy” after the start of the Russian invasion.
The new concept provides that Russia can use the Armed Forces “to prevent an attack on it and its allies.” To stop “unfriendly actions” Russia can apply symmetric and asymmetric measures.
The document says that most European states are pursuing an “aggressive policy” towards Russia aimed at creating threats to its security and sovereignty, and the United States is called “the main inspirer, organizer and enforcer of the aggressive anti-Russian policy of the collective West.”
It is expected that the anti-Russian measures of the “unfriendly state” will, if necessary, be strictly suppressed. The new concept also announced a strategic partnership with China and India.
Earlier it was reported that the Kremlin is afraid of discussions about EU peacekeepers. The Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, said that the idea of sending EU peacekeeping troops to Ukraine is “potentially very dangerous.”
