President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, who is visiting Ukraine. This was announced by the Office of the President on Friday, March 31.
“I want to thank you for taking the time to visit us on an important day – the day of the de-occupation of Bucha. I am also grateful for all the help you have given to Ukraine to strengthen it on the battlefield,” Zelensky told Globe.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the importance of the recent decision of the Slovenian government to allocate a new package of military aid to Ukraine. In this context, Zelensky informed the guest about developments in the situation at the front and stressed that the continuation of effective and active defense support for Ukraine from all partners and allies is now more important than ever.
The President mentioned Slovenia’s readiness to join further concerted measures to implement the Ukrainian peace formula aimed at achieving sustainable and just peace in our country.
The issue of cooperation among countries in the restoration of liberated territories was discussed. Projects have already started in Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions.
The President and the Prime Minister raised the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. They noted Kyiv’s determination to do everything necessary to make a decision to start negotiations on joining the EU by the end of this year, and noted the importance of Slovenia’s support for our state on this path.
Zelensky also separately thanked Slovenia for its warm attitude towards the Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homeland due to the Russian invasion.
During the meeting, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Slovenia signed a Joint Declaration, which contributes to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
Recall that today, in addition to Robert Golob, the president of Moldova, as well as the prime ministers of Croatia and Slovakia, came to Ukraine.
