The EC concluded that the ceiling on oil prices from the Russian Federation had achieved its objectives and led to a reduction in Moscow’s revenues.
The price limit for Russian oil will not be changed. Restrictions will remain at $60 per barrel. This was announced by the European Commission, according to Bloomberg on Friday, March 31.
The European Commission told EU member states that so far, most G7 countries do not want to lower the threshold, the news agency notes.
The report of the International Energy Agency, which was the basis of the audit, states that the price ceiling for oil from Russia has reached its goals and led to a reduction in Moscow’s revenues.
According to the report, the export price of Russian oil is about $52.5 per barrel, excluding shipping and insurance costs.
Urals crude traded at $45.3, while Asian exports from ESPO, Sakhalin and Sokol were above the threshold.
Remember, earlier media reported that the G7 countries this week are not ready to change the cap on the price of Russian oil, despite the fact that oil is sold below the current $60 threshold.
In Russia, they declared “destabilization” due to the adjustment of the oil price ceiling
