WSJ journalist arrested: Poland urges its citizens to leave Russia

Warsaw recalled the recommendation to leave Russia after Evan Gershkovich was imprisoned in Yekaterinburg.

The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Lukasz Jasina, against the backdrop of the arrest in the Russian Federation of WSJ correspondent Evan Gershkovich, recalled last year’s recommendation from Warsaw to stop traveling to Russia and leave in its territory. He wrote this on Twitter on March 31.

The spokesman published a statement of the Foreign Ministry dated March 3, 2022, in which Polish citizens were warned about the danger of going to the territory of Russia and traveling to the country due to the situation in Ukraine.

“This is especially important in the context of information about the arrest of Evan Gershkovich,” Yasina emphasized.
