The spring conscription in Russia, which will begin on April 1, may prevent infidels from replenishing combat units for the war in Ukraine.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin considers sending young conscripts to war a threat to the stability of his power, and therefore relied on the mobilization of reservists and the recruitment of mercenaries. Most likely, Moscow will not send conscripts to the front, but the resources of the Ministry of Defense will be spent on these individuals. This is stated in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
At the same time, experts note that now the training capacity of Russia is limited. And since these capacities will be directed to conscripts, the Kremlin will not have the opportunity to train volunteers and reservists.
The ISW also admits that the Russian authorities may try to recruit reinforcements for the war in Ukraine by forcing or persuading some of the soldiers who are completing their military service and are already to some extent prepared to fight to sign contracts.
Earlier it was reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a decree on spring conscription, which will traditionally begin on April 1 and last until July 15.
Recall that ISW analysts stated that combat-ready forces in Russia began to end as early as May 2022. However, Putin did not heed “the advice of the Russian military to issue an order for forced conscription to the reserve, but relied on volunteers, whose recruitment he entrusted to “ultra-rationalist groups” and “troops.” However, this did not give the desired results.
