The Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated most of the counter-battery complexes of the Russian army.
On March 23, the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine released footage of the destruction of the Russian counter-battery radar Zoopark-1M in Donetsk. The aggressor country has lost at least six such complexes, and, most likely, a very limited number of them remain in Ukraine. This was announced by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
It is noted that both Ukraine and Russia have priority tasks to restore the fleet of counter-battery systems. However, it will be difficult for the occupiers to do this because of the imposed sanctions, which exclude the supply of high-tech electronics.
The British believe that attempts by both sides to neutralize the enemy’s counter-battery radars were a constant feature of the war. There are not many of these systems, but they significantly increase combat capabilities, as they allow commanders to quickly detect and engage enemy artillery. However, they can be detected and eliminated because these systems have an active electromagnetic signature.
Recall that in March, soldiers from the 44th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Daniil Apostol of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian anti-aircraft self-propelled gun VSU-23-4 Shilka, which was used for air defense of ground troops and the destruction of air targets.
