In Herat province in western Afghanistan, a campaign has been launched to eradicate poppy fields. This was announced on Thursday, March 30, by the local TV channel TOLO news.
Poppy fields in western Afghanistan are expected to be destroyed before harvest.
“Our operation continues, hundreds of hectares of land have been cleared of poppies in different areas,” said the head of the Herat Drug Enforcement Administration, Hayatullah Rouhani.
To ensure the safety of the employees of the drug control department, they were accompanied by special forces.
