In the United States, the updated UAV Switchblade 300 – Switchblade 300 Block 20 was introduced.
The drone was updated, taking into account previous experience in combat operations in Ukraine. It has received a simpler control system for the tablet, allowing you to quickly and easily complete tasks.
The updated drone weighs about 2.2 kg, the deployment time is two minutes. Only one operator is required to use the Switchblade 300 Block 20.
The Ukrainian military uses Switchblade 300 drones to destroy enemy positions.
These UAVs proved to be ineffective on the battlefield against armored vehicles. The military notes that the Switchblade 300 is now successfully used against the tactics of constant infantry assaults, in particular in the Bakhmut direction.
As of February 20, the United States has donated more than 700 Switchblade UAVs to Ukraine.
What we know about the new Switchblade
The Switchblade 300 Block 20 is portable, lightweight and easy to handle. It only requires one operator to use it.
It is noted that the new fire control system, which can be installed on a tablet, allows operators to easily learn, plan and complete tasks. The operation of the system is further simplified by the integrated control directly on the launch tube.
The updated kamikaze drone weighs less than 2.2 kg and can be deployed in less than two minutes. Start can be made from ground, sea or mobile installation.
Like its predecessor, the Switchblade 300 Block 20 retains the operator’s ability to engage a target in a dynamic environment.
Also updated Switchblade 300 provides more than 20 minutes of tactical reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition. The drone transmits real-time video for use against non-line-of-sight targets.
The ammunition has an improved range of digital data channels (DDL), a new set of panoramic EO / IR cameras and the ability to uninterrupted target identification (PID).
Loitering ammunition has a Cursor-on-Target GPS communication protocol, which provides situational awareness, information collection, target designation and object recognition.
