The occupiers in Ukraine use ammunition with components from China.

Members of the Russian Armed Forces use Chinese ammunition.

A Russian body armor manufacturer imports Chinese components for its body armor, some of which is used on the battlefield in Ukraine. Last year, several Chinese companies, one of which is associated with the Chinese government, sent parts for the production of KLASS body armor. These components were subsequently received by a Russian manufacturer with ties to the Russian security forces. Politico reports.

Journalists note what is the first confirmation that the Russian invaders are using protective equipment with Chinese components. In 2022, the KLASS company imported Chinese aramid fibers several times – the same as in the Kevlar vest. The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine discovered such a bulletproof vest after the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region.

It is noted that this indicates that Moscow continues to rely on China’s help in supporting its military aggression against Ukraine, despite pressure from Western countries.

It also raises the question of how the United States will deal with China on the issue of dual-use items.

Adrian Watson, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, said that Washington is not too worried about the appearance of these dual-use items on the battlefield, since Russia has long been importing such technologies from China.

Recall that earlier Politico, citing customs and trade data, wrote that Chinese companies sold assault rifles, body armor and drone parts to Russian enterprises in June-December 2022.
