In the Gulf of Guinea, pirates hijacked a tanker belonging to the Danish company Monjasa. This was reported on March 28 by the Trade Winds portal.
It was noted that the tanker under the flag of Liberia was on board on the night of March 25, 260 km from the southern coast of the Republic of Congo. There is a batch of diesel on board.
The company that owns the ship said it had 16 crew members on board at the time of the hijacking. All sailors are said to have escaped to a sheltered area and are safe.
There is information that French ships have headed to the area where the tanker is drifting.
