On March 28, Ukrenergo reported significant blackouts in eight regions due to bad weather. We are talking about Volyn, Lvov, Transcarpathian, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Odessa regions.
Today, as a result of bad weather (storm wind, snow with rain) and damage to the networks of distribution system operators, there are significant blackouts of consumers in 8 regions in the west and south of Ukraine (Volyn, Lviv, Transcarpathian, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Odessa regions). Repair crews are working to repair the damage and restore power supply, the report said.
All types of power plants operate for generation. Ukrenergo assured that electricity generation is sufficient to cover consumption. There is also a small import of electricity.
In addition, in the Zhytomyr region, due to significant damage to networks, as a result of repeated attacks by Russians, consumption restrictions are applied. In other regions, there are no restrictions in the networks of Ukrenergo that would lead to the need to limit consumption.
The difficult situation with electricity supply remains in the regions along the front line, where the enemy damages the networks with constant shelling. In particular, yesterday, as a result of Russian shelling, the networks of distribution system operators in Kharkiv, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were damaged.
