US: Police suspect former student responsible for school shooting

Authorities have now identified a 28-year-old woman who has been identified as the alleged perpetrator of a shooting that killed three children and three adults at a school in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, where she was killed by agents.

At a press conference, Chief of Police Mr. NashvilleJohn Drake, clarified, according to preliminary information, that the attacker, white, a resident of the city of Nashvillemight have been a college student in the past Covenant Schoolwhere the attack took place.

The woman entered the school through a side door with two machine guns and a pistol.

The agents left at 10:30 local time (local time).

Representative Nashville PoliceDon Aaron, at a previous press conference, had indicated that the police had reacted “quickly” and that, having made their way to the first floor of the school, the agents heard shots from the second and decided to go upstairs.

There they met the assailant who fired, and two policemen opened fire on her.

Aaron explained that on a typical day, this educational center usually has about 209 students, employing more than 40 people.

The school where the attack took place is a private center serving students from preschool through sixth grade, about 11 years old, according to its website.

At least 30 firearm incidents have been reported in schools this year. USAresulting in eight deaths and 23 injuries, according to the organization Everytown for gun safety.
