Poland will continue to help Ukrainians who defend democracy and European values in the conflicts, the Minister of Finance said.
Poland in 2022 allocated about 1% of the country’s GDP to help Ukraine and Ukrainians – up to 30 billion zlotys (almost $ 7 billion). The Minister of Finance of Poland, Magdalena Rzeczkowska, said this in an interview with ZET radio.
The minister added that these are funds from the national budget, local governments, and partial military aid.
Magdalena Zhechkovskaya said that the total level of aid to Ukraine in 2023 will depend on the level of military aid and the number of Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Today, there are approximately one million Ukrainians who arrived in Poland after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Zhechkovskaya stressed that Poland will continue to help Ukrainians who defend democracy and European values in conflicts.
In addition, the minister pointed out that 780 thousand Ukrainians in Poland are working, doing business, thus contributing to the country’s economy.
Earlier it was reported that Poland will join the agreement to buy ammunition for Ukraine.
