Residence permit applications submitted by citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus are not considered.
On Wednesday, March 22, the Czech government decided to extend the ban on issuing Czech visas to citizens of Russia and Belarus. In addition, a ban was introduced on issuing visas to Russians and Belarusians who also have citizenship of other states, reports Radio Prague International.
After Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Czech Republic stopped issuing visas, first to citizens of Russia and then to Belarus.
The Czech Republic also banned citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus from visa-free transit through their airports and direct entry into the Czech Republic of Russian tourists from countries outside the Schengen zone.
Applications for a residence permit in the Czech Republic, submitted by Russians and Belarusians to the embassies and consulates of the Czech Republic, are not considered. Now such a ban has been extended to Russians and Belarusians with secondary citizenship.
An exception is allowed for cases of a humanitarian nature and some others.
Recall that after the cancellation of the agreement on a simplified visa regime between the Russian Federation and the European Union, the consulates of European countries stopped issuing Schengen visas to Russians for more than a year.
