The Russian command is probably trying to expand the security zone west of the defensive lines they have prepared along the hills and integrate a natural barrier in the form of the Oskol River, the authors of the construction suggest.
Most likely, they are trying to repel Kupyansk – this is a large logistics hub, the report says.
