At the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, a Soyuz-2.1a medium-class launch vehicle was launched.
The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with a military satellite from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Thursday, March 23.
“At 09:40 (8:40 Kyiv time – ed.) from the state test cosmodrome of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (Plesetsk cosmodrome) in the Arkhangelsk region, a combat crew of the space forces of the Aerospace Forces launched a Soyuz -2.1a medium-class launch vehicle with spacecraft for the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry,” the statement said.
At the same time, the Russian military did not specify whether it would be possible to put the satellite into orbit.
It will be remembered that in November 2022, Russia launched two military satellites simultaneously. Both launches took place from the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
It was previously reported that Russia was ready to strike US commercial satellites. The American spacecraft could be Moscow’s “legitimate target” for helping Ukraine, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
