The commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, hinted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine intend to launch a counteroffensive near Bakhmut.
The main forces of Russia in this direction are representatives of the Wagner PPK. Sparing nothing, they lose considerable strength and run out of steam. Very soon we will take advantage of this opportunity, as we once did near Kiev, Kharkov, Balakleya and Kupyansk,” Syrsky said in his telegram channel.
It should be noted that earlier in Wagner they announced the alleged concentration of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a counterattack in the Bakhmut direction.
Other sources (including Western ones) have not yet confirmed this information. It is only known that Ukrainian forces are conducting local counterattacks in order to push the enemy away from vital routes.
Under continuous fire from enemy artillery and aviation, our soldiers at the front demonstrate superhuman stamina, courage and bravery. In particular, units of the 93rd, 10th, 57th and 5th brigades, which are now defending our Motherland in the east of the country, Syrsky wrote on the TG channel.
Russia is slowing down its advance on Bakhmut by stepping up near Avdiivka, ISW analysts say. They also doubt the “tangible results” of possible Russian offensives in new directions, which Ukrainian officials and the White House have previously spoken about.
The Russian invaders are trying to cut the roads to Bakhmut, they are storming the area of Kremennaya, Maryinka and Avdiivka. During the day, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 83 attacks in Donbas, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
