Erdogan Officially Nominated as Turkey’s Presidential Candidate

The final list of presidential candidates will be published on March 31, after which the election campaign will begin.

The current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was officially nominated as the presidential candidate of the Republican Alliance in the election on May 14. This was reported by Anadolu.

It was noted that the corresponding application was submitted to the Supreme Electoral Council (VIS, YSK) by representatives of the ruling Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).

Erdogan’s nomination was submitted by Ali Ihsan Yavuz, head of the ruling party’s election department, and Feti Yildiz, head of the MHP’s election department.

The final list of presidential candidates will be published on March 31, after which the election campaign will begin.

Recall that the ruling party of Turkey elected Erdogan as a candidate for the presidency.

Polls show Erdogan’s main rival, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leading him by more than 10 percentage points.
