GOP Rep stuns critics by predicting it’s over for Donald Trump

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) drew ridicule Monday with her comment about how at least one of former President Donald Trump’s legal problems may be going away.

Tenney, who appeared on Newsmax, said a possible indictment of Trump over alleged cash payments to porn star Stormy Daniels was an “unwanted” case.

“It’s really the worst of our system on display here, and it’s a shame,” Tenney said. “But I think this will all come to an end because I don’t see any way to get Donald Trump to appear in court for sentencing, or I mean for indictment or any type of charge. “

Trump’s expected arrest is just a “hand-me-down” by New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he added.

Trump said on Saturday that he would be arrested on Tuesday, asking supporters to “PROTEST, YOU’RE DOWNING OUR NATION.”

Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said, however, that the 2024 GOP presidential nominee would surrender to authorities without complications.

“If it gets to that point, we’ll go through normal procedure,” he said, adding, “There will be no confrontation in Mar-a-Lago with the Secret Service and the Manhattan district attorney’s office.”

Tenney’s claim was widely mocked on Twitter, where many critics pointed out that this is not how the justice system works:
