EU countries plan to increase their defense spending by 70 billion euros by 2025. This is stated in the annual progress report on the implementation of the EU’s Strategic Compass for Security and Defense.

“EU countries are increasing their defense spending and investment. After the outbreak of the Russian war against Ukraine, all EU countries announced an increase in spending, which is estimated to bring an additional 70 billion euros to 2025 ,” the report said.

It was noted that spending should increase by a third. In 2021, 214 billion euros were provided for them.

It was previously reported that Poland in 2023 will direct 4% of the country’s GDP to strengthen its defense capabilities.

Remember, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced an increase in defense spending to strengthen national defense and counter the threat from Russia and China.
