In Transcarpathia, border guards detained men in wetsuits who wanted to escape to Romania by swimming across the Tisza.
It can be seen from the photo that three men were going to swim across. In addition to the change of clothes, documents and money carefully wrapped in polyethylene, they had inflated car cameras with them.
In total, the border guards of the Mukachevo detachment stopped eight men liable for military service at the state border, who intended to leave the territory of Ukraine. All the men tried to get into Romania outside the checkpoints.
Four of the detainees planned to conquer the highlands. They were detained by border patrols from the Yablonovka border service department. Two of the border violators arrived in Transcarpathia from the Ternopil region, one from the Cherkasy region, another from the Zhytomyr region.
“Submariners” border detachment detained at about 23.00 on the banks of the Tisza River. These men arrived in Transcarpathia from the Ternopil region, Vinnitsa and Odessa regions. They did not know how dangerous attempts to overcome the cold and full-flowing Tisza were.
The GNSU writes that now in Transcarpathia at night the air temperature drops below zero degrees, and the depth of the river reaches three meters, the width is 50 m.
During the year, 14 cases of death of men were recorded while trying to overcome the river section of the border.
Another resident of the Odessa region detained a border patrol on the outskirts of the village of Solotvyno. The man admitted that he arrived in Transcarpathia to cross the border illegally. He paid 2.5 thousand dollars for organizing his “journey”.
