An accident involving two buses left one person dead, 24 others were taken to hospital.
Two regular buses collided in the village of Tovmachik, Kolomiysky district, Ivano-Frankivsk region on Saturday morning, March 18. As a result of the accident, one person died, twenty-four others were taken to the hospital. This is what the regional police reported on their Facebook page.
“56 year old bus driver Reference Kolomyia – Mukachevo, moving along the T-09-05 highway, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a bus Volkswagen LT, operating on the route Lanchin – Kolomyia. As a result of the collision, a passenger Volkswagen LT died at the scene of the accident. 23 passengers from the same vehicle and a 36-year-old driver Volkswagen LT transported to hospitals with various injuries. They are being given the necessary medical assistance,” the statement said.
The police checked the driver Standard in a state of intoxication – it turns out that he was sober when driving.
Information about the event is included in the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under the article Violation of traffic safety rules (part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Law enforcement officers continue to work at the scene.
