“At 21:00 on March 17, 2023, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made kamikaze drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. The attack was carried out in two directions – from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov and the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation,” the statement said.
The forces and means of the air commands of the Center, East and West of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 11 strike UAVs.
It should be noted that in the regions of Kiev, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Luhansk and Donetsk, at 21.30, on Friday, March 17, an air alert was announced, then it moved to the west.
During the air attack on Kyiv, which began on Friday night, March 17, and ended on the night of Saturday, March 18, the capital’s air defense eliminated all aerial targets.
Recall that Ukrainian defenders destroyed three enemy UAVs, with which the Russians attacked critical objects in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
