Actor Lance Reddick has died, according to media reports. He was 60 years old.
Reddick was found dead in his Los Angeles home, Variety and TMZ reported. The cause of death remained unclear as of Friday afternoon.
The actor starred in several films, including the “John Wick” franchise, but was perhaps most notable for his role as Lt. Cedric Daniels in “The Wire,” a dark drama about crime and police in the city of Baltimore, where Reddick is originating from.
“It’s a milestone in television history that it would be foolish of me to be less honored to be a part of,” Reddick said of his time on “The Wire” in a 2012 interview.
Keanu Reeves, the star of the “John Wick” franchise, released a statement alongside “John Wick 4” director Chad Stahelski, expressing his condolences.
“We are deeply saddened and saddened by the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,” the statement provided to Variety read. “He was a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his dear memory. He will be greatly missed.”
And on Twitter, “The Wire” actor Wendell Pierce called Reddick “the epitome of class.”
