The Russian invaders continue their attempts to break the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, regardless of heavy losses.
The Russian Federation does not abandon its intentions to occupy Ukraine and continues to conduct offensive operations in five directions, regardless of losses. This was announced on March 17 by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report.
The main efforts of the enemy were focused on the directions of Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Maryinsky, Shakhtyorsky and in the previous day made more than 70 attacks on them.
In the directions of Volynsky, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky, the operational situation did not change significantly, the formation of offensive groups of the enemy was not detected. In the training area of the Republic of Belarus, units of the Russian occupation troops are being trained.
Under the direction of Kupyansky and Limansky, the attackers are trying to break the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Gryanikovka, Kremennaya, Kuzmino, Verkhnekamennoye and Controversial settlements.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy does not abandon attempts to attack the city of Bakhmut. Several enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Orekhovo-Vasilovka, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye and Grigorovka settlements.
In the directions of Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Mining, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of the settlements of Kamenka, Avdeevka, Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye and Maryinka. The Russian army made the most attacks in the Maryinka area – 12, all of them were repulsed.
In the direction of Zaporozhye and Kherson, the attackers are conducting defensive operations.
In all directions, Russian troops shelled peaceful cities and villages. In just one day on March 16, the enemy launched five missiles and 18 air strikes, as well as 73 shelling from multiple launch rocket systems.
