Moscow said the summit should precede the preparation of an agreement, and work in this direction has not yet been carried out.
The Kremlin has said it will not reject a meeting between Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. However, following its results, a document must be signed, and there is no preparation for it yet. This was announced on Friday, May 13, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, reports RosSMI.
According to him, the position of the Russian side did not change in the meeting between Zelensky and Putin. Peskov added that Moscow does not deny such an opportunity, but it must be prepared.
“Preparation for this meeting can and should be expressed only in the development of an appropriate document, an agreement, which must be signed at the highest level.” – said the representative of the Kremlin.
At the same time, Peskov clarified that there was no movement to develop the final document of the summit.
It will be recalled that at the end of March, the Office of the President announced that the documents for the Zelensky-Putin meeting were ready. However, this did not happen, after which Zelensky was told that negotiations between the two presidents were “out of time.”
