The man admitted that he was a racist and added that it was not decent to speak Ukrainian in the company of an American.

Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich flew to Chicago for a charity concert to raise funds for war victims in Ukraine. There he ended up in a scandal because of the Ukrainian language. The star announced this on Instagram.

According to Ognevich, the conflict arose with a local taxi driver.

“The taxi driver said he didn’t want to listen to our finished Ukrainian music, and dropped him off near the train station,” the singer wrote.

Ognevich said he encountered it for the first time.
