Russia’s statements about the alleged extension of the deal for 60 days are “stuffing information”, explained the department of Dmitry Kuleba.
Ukraine will not make concessions to Russia in terms of the grain deal. The agreement again has to be extended by 120 days. Olga Trofimtseva, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said this in a briefing on Thursday, March 16.
According to him, Russia is trying to reduce the extension of the agreement and uses ultimatum and blackmail because of the existing sanctions.
“We understand very well that Russia wants to bargain. It’s no secret either – with all these statements, they are trying to ease, with all the blackmail attempts, first of all, the financial sanctions that hit Rosselkhozbank , which hit other financial institutions, preventing them from actually exporting agricultural products and fertilizers today,” the ambassador said.
The representative of the Foreign Ministry stressed that the Ukrainian position remains unchanged. It is supported by international partners, especially the UN and Turkey. Russia’s claims about the alleged extension of the deal for 60 days, he called “information stuffing.”
It will be recalled that on March 14, the Kremlin called the alleged extension of the grain deal for 60 days a “gesture of good will”. On the same day, Turkey announced that negotiations on a grain agreement were continuing.
As you know, the grain deal expires this week – March 18th.
