Putin says he has ‘real German friends’

Putin noted that even before the events of 2022, when foreign automakers left the Russian market, German companies were the main partners of the Russian automobile industry.

The head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, said that he has maintained friendship with all his German friends. This was reported by TASS.

“I have many friends there (in Germany – ed.), as you know, and all my friends, by the way, survived. My real German friends survived,” Putin said.

According to him, even before the events of 2022, when foreign car manufacturers left the Russian market, German companies were the main partners of the Russian car industry.

“They always turn to the shouts from Washington and think about how to invent, how to figure out how to take this step in cooperation. In the end, it’s over, it’s over. Maybe such certainty is more good,” Putin said.

Recall that sales of cars of American, European and Japanese brands have almost stopped in Russia due to the lack of new deliveries.

It was also reported that new car sales in Russia fell by 62% in February.
