Canada’s Defense Minister Anita Anand announced the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine.
It was noted that Canada will provide Ukraine with approximately 8,000 155 mm ammunition, as well as 12 anti-aircraft missiles from the stocks of the Canadian Armed Forces to support air defense systems.
More than 1,800 training ammunition for 105 mm tanks will also be transferred to Ukraine to support the transfer of Leopard 1 tanks by Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
Canada has also begun taking delivery of additional Leopard 2 main battle tanks, which were announced at the end of February, according to the head of the Canadian Ministry of Defense.
“All eight Leopard 2 main battle tanks, as well as previously announced armored recovery vehicles, support equipment and ammunition donated by Canada, are expected to arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks,” Anand said.
It is noted that since February 2022, Canada has allocated more than one billion dollars for military assistance to Ukraine, and the total amount of financial, military, humanitarian and other support has exceeded five billion dollars.
It will be remembered, according to media reports, Canada is preparing 300 high-tech drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
