The tenth meeting in the Ramstein format took place on Wednesday, March 15.
Allied countries of Ukraine agreed to provide it with new equipment. In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive tanks, air defense systems, ammunition and military equipment. This was announced at a briefing by Secretary of Defense of the United States of America Lloyd Austin.
According to him, Denmark is providing Ukraine with a new military aid package of 130 million euros. Sweden will transfer 10 Leopard tanks to Ukraine, and Norway – two NASAMS air defense systems. The Netherlands is also initiating new contracts to bring new weapons to Ukraine. And Slovenia has pledged to provide certain defense needs of Ukraine. Spain will provide six Leopard 2A4 tanks soon, and then send a second batch of four other units.
And NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO members are ready to provide Ukraine with more air defense systems, armored vehicles and ammunition.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said on Twitter that the results of the next meeting in the Ramstein format inspire optimism in him.
Rammstein-10 inspires optimism: increased air defense, ammunition supply, training and the formation of an “armored fist,” he wrote.
Recall, on March 15, at the beginning of the meeting, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that already nine countries intend to transfer more than 150 Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This will allow the formation of more than nine armored brigades.
