Polish government spokesman Piotr Muller said that Warsaw had received “clear statements” from several countries that expressed a desire to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with their MiG-29 fighters.
The influential publication Bloomberg writes about this.
Mueller did not specify which countries he was talking about.
Earlier, Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy announced his readiness for a joint transfer of fighter jets with Poland if an appropriate decision is made in the Slovak government. Today it became known that Bratislava has begun discussing the transfer of its MiG-29s to Ukraine. For this, Slovakia can receive up to 900 million euros in compensation. According to media reports, in general, Slovakia has 13 MiG-29 fighters, but most of them are not capable of flying.
Recall, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday that Poland could transfer Soviet-era fighter jets to Ukraine in the next four to six weeks.
Other NATO members armed with MiG fighters include Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania.
