The NATO summit to be held in July 2023 could provide Ukraine with security guarantees.
There are already “some positive hints” on security guarantees. In all likelihood, such a document will be signed in Vilnius this summer. This was stated on March 9 by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, during a conversation with reporters, European Pravda reports.
There will definitely be security guarantees, now we no longer hear “no” when we talk about them. Now the question is who will be the first to sign them with us. I believe that it is quite realistic to sign such a document in Vilnius, he noted.
As you know, Ukraine’s security guarantees began to be discussed as early as last year after Bankovaya presented one of the options for providing guarantees to Ukraine, the Kiev CD, in September. China and Russia will not be on the list of guarantor states, and only the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance will be included.
Recall that the Kremlin reacted to the Ukrainian draft documents on security guarantees and said that Kyiv’s ambitions to join NATO pose a threat to the security of the Russian Federation.
