The vast majority of Ukrainians polled by sociologists (80.6%) believe that Belarus is a party to the war fighting against Ukraine. The opposite opinion is held by 7.5% of respondents, the Razumkov Center reported based on the results of a sociological survey.
In general, Ukrainian society demonstrates a negative attitude towards Belarus. More than 80% of respondents have a negative attitude towards this satellite country of the Russian Putin regime (56.3% – negatively, 24.4% – mostly negatively). A positive attitude towards Belarus was expressed by 12.4% of the respondents (3.1% – quite positive, 9.3% – mostly positive).
Citizens of Ukraine are even more negative towards Alexander Lukashenko. More than 90% of respondents have a negative attitude towards the self-proclaimed president-dictator (76.3% – quite negative, 15.9% – mostly negative). 3.3% of respondents have a positive attitude towards Lukashenka (0.5% – quite positively, and 2.8% – mostly positively).
Two-thirds of those polled fully (46.7%) or rather (22.5%) support a complete severing of all relations between Ukraine and Belarus after the victory of Ukraine. 5.4% of respondents do not support the complete severance of all relations between Ukraine and Belarus at all, 11.2% rather do not support it.
The Razumkov Center conducted a survey from February 22 to March 1, 2023 using the face-to-face method. It took place in Vinnitsa, Volyn, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Transcarpathian, Zaporozhye, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lvov, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi regions and the city of Kiev (in Zaporozhye, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson regions – only in those territories that are controlled by the government of Ukraine and where there are no hostilities).
2020 respondents over the age of 18 were surveyed. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%. At the same time, additional systematic deviations of the sample may be due to the consequences of Russian aggression, in particular, the forced evacuation of millions of citizens.
