The aggressor country, the Russian Federation, received a large amount of ammunition from Iran.
Tehran secretly handed over hundreds of thousands of bullets, rockets and mortar shells to the Russian army. Two Russian-flagged military cargo ships left an Iranian port in January, heading for Russia via the Caspian Sea. They carried about 100 million balls and about 300 thousand shells for MLRS and mortars. Moscow paid for this product in cash. It is reported by Sky News.
Journalists write that these ships are named Musa Jalil and Begey. One of these ships left Iran around January 10, and the other around January 12. Both carried about 200 shipping containers filled with weapons.
Sea tracker MarineTraffic, these ships in the Iranian port of Amirabad in the Caspian Sea on January 9, and on January 12, Begey and Musa Jalil made a stop off the coast of Turkmenistan, and only then went to the Russian port of Astrakhan. There they remained for several days until the February 3 release.
It remains unknown to which Russian port the ships with the ammunition eventually arrived. However, they were heading to the Russian Federation through the Caspian Sea.
Recall that the British edition of The Guardian reported that in 2022, Iran handed over to the Russian Federation a batch of kamikaze drones, which are designed for multiple use and return to base after being hit.
