A Russian strike destroyed a bridge on the only paved road to Bakhmut, which was under Ukrainian control on March 2.

In the British Ministry of Defence reportedthat it was difficult for the Russian army to maintain the pace of the offensive in the Bakhmut area. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are defending the city, despite heavy pressure and the destruction of ammunition routes.

Ukrainian forces appeared to have strengthened their defensive perimeter over the weekend following previous Russian offensives in the northern part of the city.

Intelligence said a Russian strike destroyed a bridge on the only paved road to Bakhmut, which was under Ukrainian control on March 2.

In addition, the mud is likely to prevent Ukrainian forces from resupplying as they increasingly use dirt roads.

It will be recalled that at a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, it was decided that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to defend Bakhmut and strengthen positions in the city.

According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Wagner PMC lost its most effective unit in the battle for Bakhmut.
