Russia’s aggression against Ukraine will be discussed at a meeting of representatives of G7 countries, as well as at an informal meeting of NATO members.
Over the weekend, a meeting of representatives of G7 countries and ministers of NATO member states will take place in Germany. This was announced at a briefing on Wednesday, May 11, by German Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Sasse.
“The focus of the G7 meeting was Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its impact, in particular, on the world’s energy supply and food supply,” Sasse said.
The meeting will also be attended by the heads of the diplomatic departments of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba and Moldova Nikolay Popescu, the head of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, which heads the G20 group, will almost certainly participate.
In addition to the Ukrainian bloc of issues, the role of China, the situation in the Pacific region, Afghanistan, Africa, the Middle East, etc.
An informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers will take place on Saturday and Sunday in Berlin.
“The meeting will be held in this format for the first time, a confidential exchange of views will be held. The aim is to strengthen political consultations, strengthen the political dimension of the Alliance,” Sasse said.
The Foreign Ministers of Sweden and Finland were invited to the meeting.
It was also reported that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will make foreign visits on May 11-18 to participate in events at the G7 and European Union and conduct negotiations to coordinate support for Ukraine.
Earlier, the heads of the G7 countries, after an online meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, promised to impose an oil embargo against Russia and increase the supply of modern and heavy weapons to Ukraine.
