A number of Telegram channels have published a new video from a copter landing on a Russian A-50U radar aircraft in Machulishchi near Minsk.
It is alleged that the footage was taken by the same copter that damaged the plane on the morning of February 26.
In the video, you can see how the drone flies into a military airfield and lands on the nose of the aircraft. The video cuts out as the drone hits the body. Probably at that moment there was an explosion.
The monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun” writes that the weather on the video coincides with the weather that was on February 26.
According to independent Belarusian media, all the perpetrators of this special operation were able to leave for third countries right under the nose of the FSB, taking with them flash drives with recordings from drones.
The partisans say that two “birds” worked at the airfield. One of the videos sat on the fuselage of the aircraft and damaged the radar equipment with an explosion. The second filmed this process, and a few minutes later, it landed on the “saucer” of a Russian aircraft and exploded.
Background
On the morning of February 26, in the vicinity of the military airfield of the 50th mixed base of the Belarusian Air Force in Machulishchi (Minsk region), local residents heard several explosions. According to BYPOL, they were the result of a drone attack by Belarusian partisans on a Russian military aircraft for early warning and control (AWACS) A-50. According to the head of the association of former security officials Oleksandr Azarov, the plane that participated in the adjustment of Russian missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine was damaged and “will no longer be able to fly.”
After that, there were reports that border control was tightened at the border, and a native of Crimea, who is called involved in this incident, was put on the wanted list. In addition, Belarus began to check the owners of drones.
Investigators at Bellingcat later compared satellite images of the plane taken on February 28 and February 19 and noted a difference in the color of the wings. They added that it could be due to the snow, so “it’s not possible to verify the BYPOL claim yet.”
In response to this, BYPOL told how and with what the Russian plane was attacked.
On March 2, Belarusian state media published a video of the A-50 aircraft taking off from the airfield in Machulishchi. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that the AWACS A-50 “performs the tasks of combat duty.”
State media claim that the A-50 took off on combat duty, but the telegram channel “Belarusian Gayun” states that the aircraft left the airspace of Belarus and went to Taganrog for repairs. Neither statement can be verified by non-specialists, since data on the flight of this aircraft is not displayed in programs available to ordinary users such as Flightradar24, which show the aircraft’s flight path. There is no confirmation that the A-50 returned to Machulishch yet.
